Mac OS X default logging helper sucks

Growl is a silly app that takes logs and shows them in a super cool apple-like on your desktop. The problem is that it does not seem to scale up at all. I was using cyberduck today which started spitting out tons of log messages about failed uploads. There would be no problem but Growl seemed to try add them all on my screen.

After 5 mins of not being able to do anything i killed duck and then after another 5 i was able to actually do stuff (top and kill).

All because of silly default Growl setup.

Fortunately its easy to switch it off. Go to system preferences and then growl. Disable it by hitting stop growl and also disabling it for particular applications.

Btw. GrowlHelper took like 1.2GB of ram before i killed it.
